Happy Birthday sweet baby! I can't believe we have had our baby boy in our family for a year. And I can't imagine being more blessed by this sweet little life.
Here's an update on the past month (interspersed are some of his one year picture taken by Julie Hall Photography).
Weight: 21 lbs (49th percentile)
Height: 31 inches (90th percentile)
Head Circumference: Big (95th percentile)
He's walking! This has been our biggest change. He went from occasionally taking a tentative step or two, to actually choosing walking as his main mode of movement. He still crawls some but he's getting better and better at walking.
Transitioned to whole milk and off the bottle. I was so proud of how he has moved from formula to whole milk without any fuss (just a few messy diapers!). I slowly started mixing the formula and milk until he was totally on whole milk. Took maybe two weeks to transition fully. He also takes sippy cups now and of course is eating more table food since he's not getting formula. We typically do table food or baby food every time I eat (3x a day). He hasn't really refused any food yet.
Still sleeps 12 hours a night. Bedtime is 6:30. Wakes up anywhere between 6:30 and 7:30. He also seems to have gotten over his weird nap strike and is back to two naps a day. I'm wondering if Christmas will mess him up again. Guess we'll see! I know many babies do not sleep as well as Eli so I am beyond thankful for this.
Got his first ear infection. This happened the night of his party. The doctor had told me he had fluid on his ears on Thursday, but it wasn't infected yet. So I kind of knew it could possibly become an ear infection. At least this round of antibiotics tastes much better than the last.
First haircut. I wanted him to look nice and sharp for his pictures so we had just a smidge taken off. He did great. He thought the razor tickled and the barber was great with kids. He just in daddy's lap and played with a Woody toy and had a grand old time.
Started waving and clapping. It is really cute. I think any baby clapping is adorable. Waving is hit or miss-depends on if he's in the mood to do it. He's also started making the "ga" sound. I've also been trying to work on sign language with him. Mostly "more" and "please". He signed please once, but when I do "more" he just kind of thinks he's supposed to clap. Or he just stares at me. Oh well, baby steps :)
I think that's most of our updates, I'll just leave with a few more pictures. Thanks for reading!
Happy Birthday Sweet Love!

So cute I can hardly stand it!! Great post!!
